In December of 2025, the Foundation board voted to distribute $1,500 to our neighbors for specific medical needs through our trusted partners at Mosaic Medical. Mosaic’s Patient Fund is designed to identify and reduce patient barriers to meeting wellness-related needs. This fund was started by Mosaic employees who donated money to wear jeans on Fridays and is now a fully community supported, donation-based fund. The Patient Fund helps support patient’s preventative and urgent needs, as well as expenses related to maintaining or improving their health and wellness. The items purchased through the Patient Fund are identified by the patient’s Care Team as beneficial to their health and/or safety; however, the costs are often not covered by insurance, or the additional cost is a financial hardship.
It’s a pair of wool socks and anti-itch foot powder for a houseless patient. A set of watercolor paints for a teenager experiencing depression and isolation, providing an outlet for creativity that supports their mental health. Noise canceling headphones for a patient struggling with insomnia. Shoe inserts to relieve chronic foot pain. A rice cooker. Diapers for a new family. The needs are diverse and deeply personal, and the impact is real.

Over 250 patients a year receive support from the Patient Fund and these examples, along with many others, highlight how the patient fund continues to play a vital role in meeting the unique needs of our patients. By filling gaps left by other resources, it ensures that individuals in our care can access the support they need to maintain their dignity, independence, and overall health.
