In this video, Jacob Wilson shares how a season of deep loss and uncertainty became a turning point in his life. After being laid off from his long-term job just before Christmas and walking through his mother’s battle with cancer and passing, Jacob and his wife Christina knew something had to change.
With support from the First Presbyterian Church Foundation Scholarship, Jacob went back to school in his 40s, discovered a passion for caring for both animals and people, and is now pursuing a new calling in human nursing.
Jacob’s story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to start again—and that generosity can open doors to healing, purpose, and hope.
