At First Presbyterian Church of Bend Foundation, we often say that every gift is a seed — and when planted in faith, it grows in ways we can’t always imagine.
This year, one of those seeds became a full college scholarship for a young woman named Maya, a first-generation student from Central Oregon who dreams of becoming a nurse.
Maya’s story began with a member’s legacy gift, given years ago to help young people pursue education and service. Today, that same fund continues to grow through careful investment, providing new scholarships every year — each one a ripple of hope extending into the future.
“Knowing the church believes in me means more than the money itself,” Maya shared. “It reminds me that I’m not alone — my community is cheering me on.”
Through the Foundation’s stewardship, gifts like these become long-lasting partnerships in transformation. Whether supporting education, childcare, or global health, each donation carries forward the love that started it.
